The Small Print… Our Terms & Conditions

(Or the important stuff you should read before we make your roof sparkling clean!)

 

1. Who We Are

We’re Fresh Top Roof Cleaning Ltd, a friendly, family-run business dedicated to making your roof look its best. Our official home base is 20 Venachar Road, Falkirk, FK1 5UP. You can reach us at info@freshtoproofcleaning.com or give us a call at 01324 465445 (ask for Ruth – she’s the boss when it comes to not cleaning roofs!).


2. Scope of Services

We provide top-notch roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, soffit and fascia cleaning, solar panel cleaning, and wall render cleaning. One set of terms covers the lot – no messing about!

We take pride in our work and do everything in our power to deliver great results. We don’t take responsibility for pre-existing damage, and we aren’t magicians – but we do know a thing or two about removing moss, algae, lichen and grime!


3. Pricing & Payment

  • No deposits required! We trust you. (But don’t make us regret it!)

  • Payment is due within 48 hours of completion of the clean and invoice issue – depending on the environmental conditions, the biocide treatment might be scheduled for a later date.

  • We accept bank transfers, credit cards, and cash – whatever’s easiest for you.

  • If you don’t pay on time, we’ll be sad… and we’ll have to charge a 5% late fee after 14 days. Still not paid after 21 days? It’s a late fee of 10% after that. (We think that’s fair – after all, we’ve already done the work.)

  • Quotes are valid for one month from the date we send them.


4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Life happens – we get it. But if you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 2 days’ notice.

  • Less than 2 days? You’ll owe us 25% of the job cost – because we’ve set that time aside just for you.

  • If the weather misbehaves, we’ll reschedule as needed – safety comes first!

  • Water pressure issues? If your tap trickles like a sad little stream, we may need to delay until it’s sorted, or we can work something out with your neighbours.

  • Access issues? We need to be able to get to all sides of your roof safely. If we turn up and can’t, we’ll have to reschedule – at your cost if it’s something you could have sorted.


5. Liability & Insurance

We are fully insured for damage and accidents, but let’s be clear:

  • Pre-existing damage (like cracked tiles lurking under moss) is not our responsibility. If it was broken before we got there, we’re not on the hook for it.

  • If we cause damage, we’ll fix it. If we can’t sort it on the spot, we’ll do so within a reasonable time frame.

  • Our cleaning process is thorough – so thorough that it might reveal damage you never knew was there. Not our fault, just the nature of the job! (sadly, that’s what moss does to tiles)

 

6. Property Access & Safety

We need a clear, safe working area. That means:

  • Driveways should be clear of vehicles (we don’t want to accidentally give your car a free roof-cleaning treatment).

  • Water supply must be available – we bring our own fancy equipment, but we need your tap to work.

  • Scaffolding & Equipment: If we need to set up scaffolding, we need access, no exceptions.

  • Electricity? We don’t always need it, but if we do, we’ll let you know in advance.

  • Garden furniture should be moved before we arrive – we’re good at cleaning roofs, but we’re not professional removers.

  • Plants & Pets: We’ll do our best to protect your plants, but anything delicate should be moved. Pets should be kept away during cleaning, especially during biocide application (it’s safe, but better safe than sorry). We’ll let you know when we’re applying it.


7. Our Guarantees

We stand by our work!

  • Moss-free for 2 years – if the moss comes back before then, so do we (to treat it, not just for a chat).

  • Not happy? We’ll do our best to fix the issue within reason. Just talk to us.


8. Photos, Marketing & Testimonials

  • We take before-and-after photos and videos both for quality control (and because we love a good transformation!) and to give to you, so you can see the transformation.

  • Unless you tell us otherwise, we may use these photos for marketing (don’t worry – we won’t include your address).

  • If you give us a glowing review, we may use it on our website or social media. (Thank you in advance!)


9. Complaints & Disputes

If something’s not right, let us know within 48 hours by contacting Ruth Arthur. We want happy customers, and we’ll always try to resolve any issues quickly and fairly.


10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Scottish law – because we’re in Scotland, and that just makes sense.

Last thing… by booking with us, you’re agreeing to these terms. We promise to do our best to make your roof (and the whole process) as smooth and hassle-free as possible.
